Top Border Control Official: The US Is Now Part of the Smuggling Business

Gateway Pundit
June 27, 2014

Albert Spratte, the sergeant-at-arms of the National Border Patrol Council, Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley, said the US is now in the smuggling business. Illegal immigrants know the Obama administration will not send them back once they come into the US.
CNS News reported:

Albert Spratte, the sergeant-at-arms of the National Border Patrol Council, Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley, said the Obama administration is largely to blame for waves of illegal immigrants that have been flooding the Southwest U.S. border since February, saying the government opened the door for the crisis by making it “clear they’re not going to deport people.”
Spratte, who was speaking with as a representative of the union, further said “we don’t have control of the border,” and if the Obama administration claims it is not in effect giving amnesty to the illegals, then “don’t believe them.”
Also, by allowing so many young illegal aliens to be released into this country, “the U.S. government has become a part of the smuggling business,” he said.
“This is Washington’s problem to fix. This administration has made it pretty clear they’re not going to deport people, with things like the DREAM Act and all that,” Spratte told during an interview on June 22 in McAllen, Texas, currently the busiest zone of the Rio Grande Valley Sector of the U.S.-Mexico border.
“It used to be that if you got caught, we sent you back. Now we don’t do that,” he said. “The people in Central America, they’ve heard we aren’t sending people back. Word’s gotten around. When these people come up to us and turn themselves over, that’s what they tell us. So we’ve created a suction now.”

NYPD Intel Chief Worried About Returning Syrian Jihadists

Investigative Project on Terrorism
June 20, 2014

A top law enforcement official says he is "hyper-concerned" that New Yorkers who return from fighting for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Jabhat al-Nusra or other Islamist groups could threaten his city upon their return.
"If their mindset is to return to American and to engage in terrorist activities, they're likely going to end up in New York," John Miller, the NYPD deputy commissioner for intelligence, told the New York Daily News
Syria has attracted jihadists from all over the world, and Miller says that he believes that New Yorkers have been among them.
The threat to New York may be like nowhere else in America, as evidenced by the 9/11 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Faisal Shahzad's failed attempt to set off a car bomb in 2010 was the most recent reminder of the jihadists' desire to wreak havoc in the Big Apple.
"I would be hyper-concerned about the people over there from New York City on the presumption they are going to return to New York City," Miller saidOsama bin Laden used Afghanistan as a safe haven to build terrorist training camps and establish a logistical infrastructure, he said. The breakdown of central governance in Syria and now in Iraq creates similar conditions that Islamic extremists can exploit."There's a factory over there in Syria and Iraq that turns out terrorists," Miller said. "The situation in Syria is a cancer and now that has spread to Iraq … They're going over, getting trained, getting radicalized."

George W. Bush 2007: Pulling all troops from Iraq will risk throwing away gains

Legal Insurrection
June 18, 2014
No, George Bush hasn’t actually commented on present events in Iraq, probably because he doesn’t believe it’s helpful for ex-presidents to criticize their successors.

But he already described the situation back in 2007, when he gave a speech explaining why he was vetoing a bill passed by the Democratic Congress which would have pulled troops out of Iraq (the first three minutes of the video are especially relevant):

For those who say “but Bush negotiated the agreement under which Obama ended up completely pulling out of Iraq,” there is no question that everyone involved in those Bush negotiations expected that the next president would forge a new agreement with the Iraqi government when the time came, and that it would involve leaving some residual forces there. But it was clear that Obama had no interest in doing so; he barely participated in the talks and pulled out when the going got the least bit rough.

Contrast Bush’s speech in the video above with this speech of Obama’s which he made on the occasion of the complete withdrawal from Iraq. He justifies and celebrates that withdrawal by praising the accomplishments the US had made in Iraq up to then—including and especially those of the surge which he had bitterly opposed as a senator. Ironically and tragically, those achievements have evaporated now, although their loss might well have been prevented had he left a small residual force in the country.
If we had a real press, they’d all be pointing this out on their front pages. But we don’t.

ISIS photographs detail execution of Iraqi soldiers

The Long War Journal

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham's administrative division in Salahaddin proudly displayed photographs of the capture and execution of Iraqi soldiers after it took over a base in the province.
The graphic photographs were released today on the Twitter account belonging to Wilayat Salahaddin, or Salahaddin Division. The ISIS has divided its "state" in Iraq and Syria into 16 administrative units, or wilayats.
The stream of photographs begins by showing ISIS fighters in dirt-caked pickup trucks with machine guns mounted in the beds traveling to Tasfirat prison in the city of Tikrit, and then launching an assault with dismounted troops. Tikrit fell to the ISIS earlier this week.
After capturing the base, the ISIS takes photographs of dozens of US-supplied armored Humvees, Ford and Chevy pickup trucks, and various military transport and supply vehicles that were left behind.
ISIS fighters are then photographed posing over the bloodied and mutilated corpses of the slain soldiers. The ISIS photos show the capture, transport, and execution of scores of Iraqi soldiers. Most of the soldiers are in civilian clothes, but some are seen wearing civilian clothes over their uniforms.
Iraqi soldiers had reportedly shed their uniforms and deserted en masse as the ISIS blitzkrieg advanced from Mosul to Tikrit and on to the outskirts of Samarra in the course of one week. At least four Iraqi Army divisions are said to have melted away during the ISIS onslaught.
In the photos, the Iraqi soldiers are rounded up at gunpoint and placed on flatbed trucks, some of which appear to have been captured from the base. Some of the ISIS fighters are seen holding US-made M-16 assault rifles, which had been issued to the Iraqi Army and police forces.
The ISIS fighters then order the frightened soldiers to lie face down in shallow ditches, with their hands behind their backs. ISIS fighters then open fire on the unarmed prisoners of war.
The ISIS is said to have executed thousands of Iraqi soldiers during its southward advance to Baghdad. Several Iraqi military bases are believed to have been overrun. Forward Operating Base Speicher, which once was a major US military hub in Salahaddin province, was reportedly seized by the ISIS during its southward push.
Over the past week, the ISIS took control of Ninewa and most of Salahaddin province, as well as parts of Diyala province. Most of Anbar province fell under ISIS control in January.
WARNING: Many of the images below are graphic and show the execution of Iraqi soldiers. The intent of publishing these photographs is to document the war crimes committed by the ISIS. The images are a selection of more than 60 published by the ISIS' Salahaddin Division. You can view the all of the photographs here.

I wonder if our President is too busy on the links to see these photos? His ignorance in pulling all Americans out of Iraq and claiming a victory is now responsible for the many lives that are being wasted. And many Christians and civilians are also being massacared in much the same way. Some having their heads cut off. Its what these savages love doing.

Russian Air Force to receive newest combat aircraft T-50 in 2016.

The Other News
Russian Air Force to receive newest combat aircraft T-50 in 2016. (RBTH).
The fifth-generation fighter, the PAK FA, is currently undergoing state tests, while the PAK DA strategic bomber is not set to take its first flight for another four years.
State tests of the new Russian fighter T-50 (the PAK FA project) have kicked off in Akhtubinsk in the Astrakhan Region, Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Viktor Bondarev told journalists. According to the plan, the fifth-generation fighter will be used to send serial deliveries to troops beginning in 2016.

The Air Force could even possibly receive the T-50 ahead of schedule. So far, only one country in the world is armed with a fifth-generation fighter — the United States (which has the F-22 and the F-35).

"Air crews have been retrained and are now flying on one plane. Now a second plane is on its way and will fly under a testing program," Bondarev said, though he did not specify when exactly testing began.

According to Bondarev, the T-50 was presented at the national round of Aviadarts 2014, the international competition for aviation excellence, in Voronezh. It will be shown during a special program prepared to mark the arrival of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu

The ΠΆ-50 is a fifth-generation aircraft equipped with fundamentally new avionics and promising radar with a phased array antenna.

It made its first flight in January of 2010 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, and its first public demonstration was held at the MAKS aerospace pavilion in 2011 in Zhukovsky, just outside Moscow.

In late April, it was reported that the PAK FA had received one of its most crucial elements – the Himalaya radio-electronic warfare station.

PAK DA will take off in 2019. The Russian Air Force is scheduled to be equipped with PAK DA high-tech strategic range bombers in 2023, Bondarev said.

Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoted the Air Force commander as saying that the PAK DA will make its first flight in 2019. State tests will be completed and supplies will be delivered to troops in 2023. The PAK DA project was approved in March last year. This is a fundamentally new subsonic missile that is capable of using all existing and future weapons and which possesses low visibility. In the future, it will replace the current armed strategic bombers - the Tu-95 and Tu-160Hmmmm....Unlike the 'White Elephant' F-35 these will actually fly

Kurdish Fighters Succeed Where Iraqi Army Fails

Assyrian International News Agency

Erbil, Iraq -- Brig. Halgord Hikmat, the spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government's Peshmerga Ministry, made little effort to conceal his satisfaction on Friday.

"Yes," he said with a cheeky grin. "It is a very nice time to be Kurdish."
Only a few hours before, Kurdish soldiers known as Peshmerga were engaging Islamist insurgent fighters in Diyala Province, picking up the slack from hundreds of retreating Iraqi troops. On Thursday Peshmerga fighters moved decisively to occupy the nearby city of Kirkuk, easily expelling Islamist fighters who had sent Iraqi troops literally running for the hills.
The Iraqi government in Baghdad has suffered a string of humiliating military defeats this week as insurgents from the al Qaeda-inspired Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham conquered several major cities.
But for Iraq's long put-upon Kurdish minority, the past week has offered perhaps the finest opportunity in a generation to assert the Kurds' long-delayed claims on disputed lands and eventually, said Brig. Hikmat, a fully independent Kurdish state.
By exposing the weakness of the Iraqi state and setting a precedent for other minority groups to announce their own self-rule, a Kurdish claim of independence could potentially do more damage to Iraqi unity than ISIS's sweeping assault of the past week--a fact that Brig. Hikmat readily acknowledged.
"This would be a further prelude for the division of Iraq," said Brig. Hikmat. "A united Iraq is not the solution at this moment. The creation of the Iraqi state in the last century doesn't have enough to it to keep Iraq as a united state."
Mr. Hikmat said he expects the KRG to allow Kirkuk residents to vote on becoming part of the semiautonomous region, but he declined to give details on future plans.
Such a move toward independence could set off shock waves beyond Iraq's borders. The Kurds were largely ignored in the post-World War I Great Game that saw European colonial powers parcel out Middle Eastern countries among themselves. After the lines were drawn, the Kurds were left without a state to call their own and with pieces of their polity spread throughout Iran, Syria, Turkey and Iraq.
Mr. Hikmat and other Kurdish politicians said there were no plans to carve out a Kurdish state from surrounding nations. But even the claim to an independent Kurdish state within Iraq's borders would rattle nearby governments who have long fought to integrate and suppress their own Kurdish minorities.
The Kurdish expansionism was met with little reaction from Baghdad, where the Shiite-dominated central government has long viewed the Kurds as opportunists. The office of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki didn't respond to repeated requests for a comment, and members of his Dawa Party didn't answer phone calls.
Iraqi politicians have made a habit of publicly pillorying the Kurds even as they relied on the Peshmerga--Kurdish for "those who confront death"--? for security in the restive stretches of northern Iraq.
The friction between Baghdad and Erbil derives mostly from a dispute over oil exports. For the past several years, the KRG has been pushing to export its own oil independently of the Iraqi government. According to Iraqi law, Erbil is entitled to 17% of the national budget after deductions for oil services contracts. But Kurdish politicians have long complained that Baghdad actually delivers far less.
Baghdad has refused to make payments to the KRG since February, prompting Kurdish cauthorities to suspend pay for many state employees. Many KRG public workers have spent the past few months on strike.
The conflict reached a head last month, when the KRG started exporting oil on its own through a pipeline leading to the Turkish port of Ceyhan. Baghdad moved to sue the KRG and Turkey in the International Court of Arbitration in Paris.
Even before this week's military drama, the city of Kirkuk loomed large over the Baghdad-Erbil dispute. The Kurds have long considered the Kurdish-majority city to be part of their germinal nation despite successive Arab regimes' efforts to "Arabize" the oil-rich area by offering incentives for Arabs and other ethnic minorities to move there throughout the past century.
"These areas are over 90 % Kurdish anyway," said Dindar Zebari, the deputy minister of foreign relations of the KRG, of so-called "disputed areas" such as Kirkuk.
Yet while Kurdish soldiers have a reputation for professionalism that far surpasses soldiers from the rest of Iraq, non-Kurdish residents of Kirkuk said they felt frightened by the sudden influx of gun-toting Peshmerga.
"Our lives are in danger and we are terrified," said Salah Nawzad Bayatli, 36, an ethnic Turkmen who lives in Kirkuk. "We don't know what is going to happen in the next days but we know that this status is not normal and is threatening the future of Kirkuk."
